i wish i could post pictures of all the flood happenings here in Nashville. its been such a bummer that there hasnt been ANY national media coverage of this disater until now. Anderson Cooper is apparently touring the Grand Ole Opry with Faith Hill and Tim McGraw today. i read this article in the Scene this morning - She has a good point.

if i had a good camera (and if i knew how to efficiently upload pictures), this blog would be swamped with photos. the only one i got of the flood waters was this photo my roommate, Rachel, took on her phone of our backyard rising (sorry its sideways - someone please help me figure out how to work this blog!!??) luckily, we didnt get nearly as much damage as everyone else. it really is heartbreaking to look at the damage and hear to stories of death.
on another note, i need a new camera to document my life. my old camera, which is still fairly new, was dropped one too many times on some wild nights and is pretty pitiful. does anyone have any suggestions while i am looking to purchase?
and, FYI: to follow up to the new J.Crew outlet post - I went, twice, and it was fabulous. while i was shopping there, the rain poured down. the new J.Crew flooded. not going to reopen for a long, long time. nooo!!!
