bricks

i love franklin, tennessee. especially downtown.  i hope to live there one day - just not in a spooky house, which may be hard to come by. i think these bricks are my favorite part of franklin:

My great-grandparents, Nan and Papa:
NAN ALLEN WAS TOUGH AS LEATHER, SWEET AS HONEY
1904-1994
JOHN POPS ALLEN
SHORT IN STATURE
TALL IN LOVE

My grandparents best friends:
BOB AND EDITH KEITH
50 YEARS
9/11/51- 9/11/01

And MamaJean and Daddy Don's brick:
DON AND JEAN BRACEY
FRIENDS FOREVER
1991
(Their brick was covered by a flower pot, so we had to move the pot and cleaned up the brick as best we could.)

i love that my family has made its mark on franklin.

PS:
Cheers to the miners, their families, the rescue workers.  Hooray for Chile!
Toasting with Hallie and Hall as the 33rd miner was rescued.

go blue

It seems like my weekends can't catch a break.  We decided last minute to get Michigan vs. Michigan State tickets for Saturday's game and head to Ann Arbor.  And off we went.

We had a blast, as always.

a fun filled weekend

As I mentioned last week, I was really looking forward to the weekend.  My sister and new brother-in-law came in town and our fabulous friends threw JP and I an awesome engagement party.  We are so blessed and honored to have such loving friends.  Below are some highlights from the weekend:

On Friday night, my parents, Emily, Kevin, JP and I went on the ghost tour around Franklin.  I was fun to spend time together, but not that scary (... and you know it's really not scary when I say that! I'm the biggest chicken!)  It was more of a history lesson than a Halloween-esque ghost tour.
We topped the night off with my favorite... drum roll... SWEET CECE'S!

Saturday night was our engagement party.  Here are just a FEW of the fabulous details!

Thanks, friends, for making this time in our life so special!  We love you!
Love,
jp & biz

heading home

As you can tell, my blog pretty much dies when I am in DC.  The DC life consists of a crazy busy day and a wildly fun nightlife.  Thus, no time to blog.  I am so excited because I am heading back to Nashville a day early this week.  This is what I have on my agenda for the weekend:
  • My sister and brother-in-law are coming in town! - for the first time since they got married!  I havent ever gone this long without seeing my sister, so I'm really excited about seeing her after 5 months.
  • Our ENGAGEMENT PARTY is THIS Saturday!  I am SUPER excited about this!  JP and I are so blessed to have such awesome friends that I know will throw a phenomenal celebration - I can't wait to post photos - including the so cute invite (via my paper friend, Kaitlyn).
  • I'm going to spray paint every.single.mason.jar I own. (via)
  • The weather in Nashville is supposed to be beautiful this weekend!  I am heading to the Franklin Farmer's Market first thing Saturday morning to stock up for the week.
  • The whole family is going on the Franklin Ghost Tour Friday night.  Although I am the biggest chicken(I look beneath my bed in DC every night before I go to sleep), I really think this will be so interesting.
  • I want to go to the pumpkin patch this weekend as well.
  • Once I fly home tonight, I will rack up ANOTHER free flight on Southwest.  I'm a Rapid Rewards whore.
Fall is in the air!

i've been revived.

I'm finally back from my sweet, sweet vacation. My mom, dad, brother, fiance and I took a trip to Amelia Island. Below are a few highlights:

We played Rummy every night. I won the championship on the final night :)
