sketchy

ps. i love all of these chalkboard walls/ cabinets. every.single.one.of.them.

recess

This year's August recess has not been good to me. Since there is not much (or NOTHING at all) going on in DC, I have spent way too much time going out with friends and shopping online. AKA: spending too much money. Below are just a few of the products that should be waiting on my front steps for me when I arrive home.

a LensCoat BodyBag for my camera - to prevent scratches and enable easy traveling

I ordered this chalkboard of of Amazon... not really sure what I am going to do with it yet, but it felt like a "must" at the time of purchase.

OK OK OK. I know what you're thinking: "Roxy? Really, Biz?" I didn't think it was too "16 year old wanna-be surfer girl" - I've already been through that stage. But, I thought it would be really cute with a cardi - especially for the price. I found it via.

If I have to pay shipping, why not fill up the box? This is also from Roxy - and can function as a dress as well as a skirt.

Can you tell I am not ready for fall yet?

Dear Summer,
Please stick around for a bit longer.
Love ya,
Biz

inspiration

since my life has had such drastic changes lately (and i don't do well with change), i am trying to find inspiration in the simple things. while i was experiancing a TEN, yes 10, hour flight delay last week, i decided to munch on a veggie plate at Panda Express in the airport. after a long week, this is exactly what i needed to find in my fortune cookie:

first day jitters

He said he is nervous and excited, all at the same time.

i've been revived.

I'm finally back from my sweet, sweet vacation. My mom, dad, brother, fiance and I took a trip to Amelia Island. Below are a few highlights:

We played Rummy every night. I won the championship on the final night :)

Widdy Wednesday

This is the highlight of Widdy's day: When someone walks in the back door.

wrap it up.

I LOVE wrapping presents. My first job was giftwrapping at Belk's when I was in high school. After the Christmas stint (and becoming numb to it), I took a couple years off of wrapping beautiful presents, but I'm back in love!

Below are some pretty presents that I wrapped for a baby shower for sweet baby Coleman.

I found these tags at Eat Drink Chic.

I am using these tags again for a SUPRISE soon! Can't wait to share...

my kind of night.

Last night was a perfect night for me. Hallie, Hall and I watched The Teen Choice Awards at Hall's house - Our excuse for watching: Hallie's latest obsession is Robert Pattinson :)

We picked up "The Good Stuff" - the burger joint that is owned and run by Spike from Top Chef - and layed around at Hall's house all night. Of course, the night turned into a Real Housewives party as well as a photo shoot for Hall's sweet puppy, Jackson.

Have I mentioned that I am OBSESSED with my new camera???

Yummy "Vegetarian's are people too" burger and rosemary and tyme fries
Jackson's photo shoot:
He just can't help himself.

Widdy Wednesday

This will be me and Cash in a few months...

(courtesy of People magazine... I think... or maybe US Weekly?)
He is not going to wear a pink tux. He will have a collar made of pink peonies. He's going to look so handsome!

readings

Spending so much time in airports, trains and cabs, I rely now more than ever on a good book. I am currently reading The Help, which I love too much to finish. I tend to have that problem with a good book - I dont want it to end.

I have done some research and found a list of books I want to read, which will give me something to look forward to as I finish up my current title.
1. Water for Elephants -Sara Gruen
2. I'm Down -Mishna Wolff
3. Eating Animals -Jonathan Safran Foer
4. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo -Steig Larsson

Do you have any books that you would recommend?

Served with watermelon, Cape Cod chips and Sweet Cece's for dessert... mmmmm!
